Job summary

A Machine Operator position at Award Staffing is available for the 3rd shift in Brooklyn Park, MN. This temporary role requires precise manufacturing and adherence to documented processes to ensure first-pass quality.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or GED, production experience, and the ability to read prints and use scales and measuring equipment. Training in Paulson Molding Fundamentals 1 & 2 is required, and physical tasks include lifting up to 40 pounds and standing for long

Qualifications

  • High school diploma/GED or equivalent experience required.
  • Previous production experience required.
  • Valid identification and ability to work legally in the United States.
  • Basic understanding of scales and other required measuring equipment.
  • Knowledge of a variety of injection molding presses.
  • Understand how to read a print.
  • Successful completion of Paulson Molding Fundamentals 1 & 2.
  • Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks and complete them in a timely manner.
  • Ability to run a manual work center and maintain cycle, tend to multiple automatic work centers as assigned, count and report production and scrap.

Responsibilities

  • Work with a team to produce products correctly the first time, on time.
  • Follow documented processes and instructions to manufacture products to meet our customers’ expectations.
  • Make effective/accurate decisions about part acceptance while operating manual or automatic work centers.
  • Accurately count product and label packaging accordingly.
  • Document required information using good documentation practices on all company records.
  • Inspect and document parts per the Inspection instructions.
  • Provide continual input to improve production and engineering development operations.
  • Recognize, understand, and react to changes in part quality and equipment controls; notify team members as issues arise.
  • Conduct effective shift handoffs to incoming personnel with clear communication about statuses and best practices.
  • Follow company processes and procedures including medical cleanrooms / controlled environments.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area.
  • Reports directly to the Shift Supervisor or Shift Lead.
  • Works with all team personnel and other departments.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

About the Opportunity
  • Job Title: Machine Operator
  • Pay Rate Range: $19.50-$22.50/hr
  • Location: Brooklyn Park, MN
  • Schedule: 3rd Shift Sunday-Thursday 11PM-7AM
  • Position Type: Temporary
Requirements and Qualifications
  • High School diploma/GED or equivalent experience.
  • Previous production experience required.

  • Knowledge of a variety of injection molding presses.
  • Understand how to read a print.

  • Ability to run a manual work center and maintain cycle, tend to multiple automatic work centers as assigned, ability to count and report production produced and scrap as required.
  • Walking is required within the office/shop areas.
  • Sitting, standing, turning the head and torso, reaching, grasping, bending and flexing the arms, legs, wrists, and fingers are physical requirements.
  • Must have correctable eyesight and good depth perception.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time.
  • Must be able to walk, sit and occasionally climb and balance.
  • Must be able to lift 40 pounds and move objects in a safe manner using proper equipment.
  • Must have dexterity with hands.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Work/collaborate with a team to produce products correctly the first time, on time.

  • Recognize, comprehend, and react to changes in part quality, work center and equipment controls. Notify team members as issues/concerns arise.
  • Conduct effective shift handoffs to incoming personnel including effective communication about work center/product statuses, scrap levels, run challenges, and best practices/job nuances to improve the likelihood of success for the incoming shift.
  • Follow company processes and procedures including medical cleanrooms / controlled environments.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area.
  • Reports directly to the Shift Supervisor or Shift Lead.
  • Works and communicates well with all team personnel. Has very frequent contact with the Operations Manager, Shift Supervisors, shift team members (techs/material handlers) and other individuals from a variety of departments.
  • Other duties as assigned by supervisor.
