Our client is seeking an experienced Production Lead to oversee daily operations within the manufacturing environment, ensuring efficient workflows, quality control, and adherence to food safety standards. This role will require a proactive leader who is comfortable supervising team members, managing daily tasks, and maintaining a high standard of safety and compliance.

This role is onsite in McMinnville, Oregon.

  • Achieve manufacturing staff goals by setting clear expectations, monitoring performance, and providing coaching and discipline as necessary.
  • Maintain strict food safety standards, including product inspection and lot traceability.
  • Step in to support line positions as needed to address staffing shortages or workflow demands.
  • Interview, hire, and train new department staff, ensuring proper onboarding and training practices.
  • Supervise daily workflow, assign tasks, and manage department operations effectively.
  • Follow and enforce all safety protocols, including the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and adherence to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
  • Complete required documentation, including lot numbers and tracking of product variances.
  • Conduct sanitation tasks on line equipment, parts, and surrounding areas to maintain a clean production environment.
  • Engage in cross-training across various roles and support job rotation to promote operational flexibility.
  • Enhance and refine area processes, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Adhere to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and GMPs relevant to the production area.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Production Lead Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.
  • Recognize and report any food safety issues and exercise empowerment to address issues within the role’s scope. Must consistently adhere to GMP standards.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proven supervisory and leadership skills with a solid understanding of operational policies and practices.
  • Proficiency in basic office tasks, including computer and telephone use, and general office equipment.
  • Fluent in English, with the ability to read, write, and communicate job-related information effectively.
  • Flexibility to work any shift, including overtime as necessary.
  • Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Effective communication skills, particularly in training and supporting team members.
