Overview




The Production Lead plays a critical role in coordinating and overseeing the daily operations of the Bridge and Calibration Team within the Lidar Group. This position ensures that production goals are met efficiently, on time, and with a strong focus on quality-all while maintaining a positive and collaborative team environment.

Responsibilities




With a deep understanding of project workflows, the Production Lead provides hands-on production support, identifies potential risks, and drives workflow standardization. They are responsible for team development, managing resource capacity and allocation, supporting innovation, and tracking project status to proactively address resourcing needs.

In addition to overseeing production, the Production Lead supports personnel management within the team. They are well-versed in project specifications, sensor processing times across various acquisition platforms, and key production levers for lidar calibration. This expertise allows them to estimate effort accurately, troubleshoot production issues, and communicate clearly with both internal teams and external stakeholders.

Sales support and project management:

  • Support sales with estimates and technical input during project scoping
  • Assist with resourcing, tasking, and aligning on delivery schedules
  • Coordinate subconsultant procurement as needed
  • Manage stakeholder expectations and help mitigate project risks
  • Contribute to status updates (ETCs, rates, milestones)
  • Support project closeout, archiving, and retrospectives

Production & Operations:

  • Establish clear workflows with quality controls
  • Standardize processes and improve team communication
  • Lead and refine process improvements
  • Foster continuous improvement culture
  • Collaborate with technical experts on workflow upgrades
  • Manage QA for products and deliverables

Resourcing & Personnel Management:

  • Drive capacity planning, forecasting, and resource allocation
  • Manage short-term staffing via skills tracking and gap analysis
  • Align resourcing with project priorities
  • Support IT resourcing challenges
  • Lead hiring and onboarding based on project needs
  • Promote cross-training to boost team flexibility
  • Identify strengths and gaps to minimize risk
  • Support mentorship and development
  • Approve timesheets, expenses, and contribute to merit/promo decisions
  • Oversee performance management and succession planning





Qualifications




Requirements and Qualifications

  • 3-5+ years of production or operations experience, with team leadership responsibility
  • Strong understanding of production workflows, quality control, and troubleshooting
  • Experience with project tracking and resource management tools
  • Solid communication skills with ability to work across technical and non-technical teams
  • Proven ability to manage schedules, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines
  • Experience mentoring team members and supporting professional development

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in GIS, Remote Sensing, Geography, or related field
  • Familiarity with lidar sensors, acquisition platforms, and related processing tools
  • Experience with process improvement methodologies
