Job summary

Smithfield Foods, Inc. is seeking a Production Supervisor to oversee frontline production and ensure safety, quality, and efficiency on the Sioux Falls, SD line. You will manage shifts, drive yields and throughput, and coach hourly staff to meet daily targets.

The role emphasizes adherence to USDA health standards, training on safe operating procedures, and continuous improvement through data-driven decisions. Travel is limited and relocation support is available if needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university in Business or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 2+ years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong communication skills (oral and written) while leading problem-solving efforts for complex processes with solid analytical abilities.
• Experience motivating, training, and coaching employees to achieve peak performance in a manufacturing setting.

Responsibilities

• Safety and quality: ensure compliance with HACCP, USDA regulations, and safety plans.
• Lead production teams to meet targets on time and with high quality.
• Track yields, efficiencies, and variances; collaborate with managers to improve workflows.
• Direct hourly employees and conduct monthly line meetings; walk the floor daily.
• Identify improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and maintain standards.
