Job summary

Ramp is building the smart infrastructure for finance teams, embedded in the transaction flow of every dollar a business spends. We hire people with high agency and high urgency, and Ramp's Production Engineering team leads reliability and scalability at scale.

We are seeking a Tech Lead and Manager to own end-to-end infrastructure outcomes, drive architectural change, and lead cross-team initiatives across compute, storage, workflows, and observability in a fast-moving fintech environment.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of software engineering experience shipping high-quality architectures for critical systems.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals — clean, well-tested, production-ready code.
• Hands-on experience with distributed systems at production scale.
• Experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS preferred).
• Familiarity with observability practices (SLOs, error budgets, alerting, dashboards).
• Track record of leading technical projects end-to-end, including cross-team coordination.
• Comfortable using AI tooling and coding agents as part of your everyday engineering workflow.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate critical infrastructure across Ramp's compute, storage, messaging, and observability stack.
• Drive architectural change — not just flag problems. You own the path forward and stay in until resolved.
• Partner with product teams at the design phase — embedding golden paths, and making it easy to build correctly the first time.
• Build Ramp's next level of scale — contribute to the cellular architecture move and international expansion.
• Enable AI-native engineering — define golden paths for reusable foundations and AI infrastructure patterns.
• Build developer tooling and self-service infrastructure for faster ship
• Participate in on-call rotation — drive root-cause analysis and prevent recurrence.
• Lead across the company — cross-team architectural reviews and company-wide reliability initiatives.
