Job summary

Ramp is seeking a Production Engineer lead to own Ramp's infrastructure and drive reliability at scale. You will write production code, own systems end‑to‑end, and partner with product teams to deliver scalable, secure solutions.

You will lead architectural reviews, spearhead cross‑team initiatives, and advance Ramp’s move to AI‑powered engineering patterns, while building tools that accelerate other teams’ delivery.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software engineering management shipping high‑quality architectures for critical systems.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals; production‑ready code.
• Hands-on experience with distributed systems at production scale.
• Experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS preferred).
• Familiarity with observability practices (SLOs, error budgets, dashboards).
• Track record of leading technical projects end-to-end, cross‑team coordination.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate critical infrastructure across Ramp's compute, storage, messaging, and observability stack.
• Drive architectural change and own the path forward to resolve reliability and scalability issues.
• Partner with product teams at design phase, embedding golden paths for first‑time-right builds.
• Lead Ramp's move to scalable, AI‑driven, enterprise‑grade infrastructure.
• Develop developer tooling and self‑service infrastructure for other teams.
