Job summary

Ramp, a fintech infrastructure company, is hiring for Production Engineering. You will own systems end-to-end, build production-grade infrastructure, and drive scalable architectural changes across Ramp's compute, storage, and observability stack.

You will partner with product teams to ensure correct first-time implementations, contribute to a cellular architecture move for international reach, and help Ramp deliver enterprise-grade SLAs while enabling AI-native engineering.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of software engineering experience shipping high-quality architectures for critical systems.
• Strong software engineering fundamentals—production-ready code.
• Hands-on experience with distributed systems at production scale.
• Experience with at least one major cloud provider (AWS preferred).
• Familiarity with observability practices (SLOs, error budgets, alerting, dashboards).
• Track record of leading technical projects end-to-end, including cross-team coordination.
• Comfortable using AI tooling and coding agents as part of your everyday engineering workflow.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate critical infrastructure across Ramp's compute, storage, messaging, and observability stack, owning systems that handle real financial transactions at scale.
• Drive architectural change by surfacing reliability or scalability issues, owning the path forward and coordinating owners across engineering.
• Partner with product teams at the design phase—reviewing architectures, embedding golden paths, and ensuring correct first-time builds.
• Build Ramp's next level of scale as we move to a cellular architecture enabling international reach, regulatory compliance, and enterprise-grade SLAs.
• Enable AI-native engineering by defining golden paths and enabling reusable foundations for AI-powered products.
• Build developer tooling and self-service infrastructure so other teams can answer questions about cost, performance, and reliability.
• Participate in on-call rotation and use incidents to eliminate root causes.
