Job summary

Santa Barbara Infrared, Inc. (SBIR), a fast-paced subsidiary of HEICO Corporation, is seeking a Production Control Supervisor in Santa Barbara.

You will oversee planning, scheduling, and tracking of production activities to ensure on-time delivery and optimal use of resources. You will lead a team of production control clerks and schedulers, develop master production schedules, monitor progress, and coordinate cross-functionally to keep customer commitments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate or Bachelor's degree in business, operations management, supply chain, or related field preferred.
• 4–6 years of experience in production control, planning, or scheduling within a manufacturing environment.
• At least 1–2 years in a lead or supervisory role.

Responsibilities

• Supervise, train, and mentor production control clerks and schedulers, assigning tasks and reviewing daily performance.
• Develop, maintain, and adjust master production schedules based on customer orders, capacity, and material availability.
• Monitor work order status and production progress, identifying and resolving bottlenecks, delays, or material shortages.
• Coordinate with materials/purchasing, quality, maintenance, and shipping to ensure schedule alignment and on-time delivery.
• Analyze production data (throughput, downtime, scrap, WIP) and prepare reports for management.
• Balance workload across production lines/shifts to optimize labor and equipment utilization.
• Lead daily production meetings to communicate priorities and schedule changes; resolve cross-department issues.
• Ensure accurate and timely data entry into ERP/MRP systems for work orders, inventory, and production status.
• Support root-cause analysis and corrective actions for schedule disruptions or missed deadlines.
