Job summary

Goodyear is hiring a Retread Technician to support our retread plant operations in Wilkes-Barre, PA. You will participate in recapping, remolding, and extending tire life to keep fleets on the road.

The role involves inspecting tires, buffing casings, repairing and re-treading, and final quality checks. Training and advancement opportunities are provided in a team-oriented environment with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect tires to assess retread eligibility.
• Buff the casing to remove worn tread.
• Remove embedded objects, rust and repair the casing.
• Repair the casing with cement or patch before applying new tread.
• Build the tire by applying new tread.
• Cure the tire to set the retread material.
• Perform final inspection for safety and quality.

Starting Pay: $21.50 Hourly + OT Availability + Weekly Pay

About the Role:

What will you do? As a member of our retread team, you will play a role in recapping, remolding, or in other words, extending the life of an existing tire to get it back on the road!

In our retread plants you will have the opportunity to support the retread process through various stages:

• Inspect the tires to assess if they can be retread
• Buff the casing to remove any worn tread
• Remove embedded objects, rust, and repair the tire casing
• Using rubber cement or a patch, repair the casing before applying new tread
• Building the tire by applying new tread
• Curing the tire to mold the retread application
• Final Inspection to assess a safe and quality product

Basic Requirements:

• Candidates must be at least 18 years of age.
