Job summary

Goodyear Tire & Rubber is hiring for an entry-level role in the retread team. The position offers on-the-job training, no experience required, and a starting pay of $18.00 per hour in the Atlanta market.

You will learn to recap, remold, and extend tire life through hands-on processes from inspection to final quality checks. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) with company matching, life insurance, vacation time, tuition reimbursement, and ongoing training for career advancement.

Responsibilities

• Inspect the tires to assess if they can be retread
• Buff the casing to remove worn tread
• Remove embedded objects, rust, and repair the tire casing
• Repair the casing with rubber cement or a patch before applying new tread
• Build the tire by applying new tread
• Cure the tire to mold the retread application
• Perform final inspection to ensure a safe, quality product

About the Role

What will you do? As a member of our retread team, you will play a role in recapping, remolding, or in other words, extending the life of an existing tire to get it back on the road!

In our retread plants you will have the opportunity to support the retread process through various stages:

• Inspect the tires to assess if they can be retread
• Buff the casing to remove any worn tread
• Remove embedded objects, rust, and repair the tire casing
• Using rubber cement or a patch, repair the casing before applying new tread
• Building the tire by applying new tread
• Curing the tire to mold the retread application
• Final Inspection to assess a safe and quality product

Basic Requirements
