Job summary

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company is hiring for a role in our retread team in North Carolina. You will help extend tire life by recapping and remolding tires and will receive on-the-job training with opportunities for career advancement.

No prior experience required; we offer a comprehensive benefits package, paid training, and tuition assistance, with a starting pay of $20 per hour and eligibility for 401(k), health, and paid time off.

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.
• Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect tires to assess retread eligibility.
• Buff the casing to remove worn tread.
• Remove embedded objects, rust, and repair the casing.
• Repair the casing with rubber cement or a patch.
• Apply new tread and build the tire.
• Cure the tire to set the retread.
• Perform final inspection for safety and quality.

The pay for this position is $20.00/hr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on factors such-as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. About the Role: What will you do?

As a member of our retread team, you will play a role in recapping, remolding, or in other words, extending the life of an existing tire to get it back on the road!

In our retread plants you will have the opportunity to support the retread process through various stages:

• Inspect the tires to assess if they can be retread
• Buff the casing to remove any worn tread
• Remove embedded objects, rust, and repair the tire casing
• Using rubber cement or a patch, repair the casing before applying new tread
• Building the tire by applying new tread
• Curing the tire to mold the retread application
• Final Inspection to assess a safe and quality product
