The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company is hiring for an entry-level Retread Technician in Jacksonville, FL. You will support the retread process across multiple stages, from inspecting tires to applying new tread and curing the retread.

Training is provided, and you’ll join a team focused on safety and quality in a manufacturing environment. Starting pay is $19/hr with comprehensive benefits, including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k).

Qualifications

• 18 years or older
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. (no sponsorship needed now or in the future)
• Basic computer skills in common software

Responsibilities

• Inspect tires to assess retreadability.
• Buff the casing to remove worn tread.
• Remove embedded objects, rust, and repair the casing.

About the Role: What will you do?

The starting pay for this position is $19/hr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on factors such-as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. As a member of our retread team, you will play a role in recapping, remolding, or in other words, extending the life of an existing tire to get it back on the road!

In our retread plants you will have the opportunity to support the retread process through various stages:

• Inspect the tires to assess if they can be retread
• Buff the casing to remove any worn tread
• Remove embedded objects, rust, and repair the tire casing
• Using rubber cement or a patch, repair the casing before applying new tread
• Building the tire by applying new tread
• Curing the tire to mold the retread application
• Final Inspection to assess a safe and quality product
