Job summary

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company is hiring for an entry-level position in our retread team in Cranberry Township, PA. You will support the retread process by inspecting tires, buffing casings, removing embedded objects, applying new tread, and ensuring a safe final product.

• Basic computer skills required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect the tires to assess if they can be retread.
• Buff the casing to remove worn tread.
• Remove embedded objects, rust, and repair the tire casing.
• Repair the casing with rubber cement or a patch before applying new tread.
• Build the tire by applying new tread.
• Cure the tire to mold the retread application.
• Conduct final inspection for a safe, quality product.

Base pay offered may vary depending on factors such-as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. About the Role: What will you do?

As a member of our retread team, you will play a role in recapping, remolding, or in other words, extending the life of an existing tire to get it back on the road!

In our retread plants you will have the opportunity to support the retread process through various stages:

• Inspect the tires to assess if they can be retread
• Buff the casing to remove any worn tread
• Remove embedded objects, rust, and repair the tire casing
• Using rubber cement or a patch, repair the casing before applying new tread
• Building the tire by applying new tread
• Curing the tire to mold the retread application
• Final Inspection to assess a safe and quality product
