Job summary

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company is hiring a Retread Technician to support the retread process across stages from inspection to final quality check. Training will be provided, no prior experience required, and there are opportunities to grow within the retread plants.

Compensation starts at $20.00 per hour with a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and tuition assistance. Employment is full-time with paid time off and career advancement potential.

Responsibilities

• Inspect tires to assess retread eligibility
• Buff the casing to remove worn tread
• Remove embedded objects, rust and repair the tire casing
• Repair the casing with rubber cement or a patch before applying new tread
• Build the tire by applying new tread
• Cure the tire to set the retread application
• Conduct final inspection for safety and quality

The pay for this position is $20.00/hr; however, base pay offered may vary depending on factors such-as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. About the Role: What will you do?

As a member of our retread team, you will play a role in recapping, remolding, or in other words, extending the life of an existing tire to get it back on the road!

In our retread plants you will have the opportunity to support the retread process through various stages:

• Inspect the tires to assess if they can be retread
• Buff the casing to remove any worn tread
• Remove embedded objects, rust, and repair the tire casing
• Using rubber cement or a patch, repair the casing before applying new tread
• Building the tire by applying new tread
• Curing the tire to mold the retread application
• Final Inspection to assess a safe and quality product
