The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company in Bolingbrook, IL is hiring for entry-to-experienced roles in our retread team. You will participate in the full retread process, from inspection to final quality checks, supporting tire longevity and fleet services.

Responsibilities

• Inspect the tires to assess if they can be retread.
• Buff the casing to remove worn tread.
• Remove embedded objects, rust, and repair the tire casing.
• Repair the casing with rubber cement or patches before applying new tread.
• Build the tire by applying new tread.
• Cure the tire to mold the retread application.
• Perform final inspection for safety and quality.

Starting Pay: $22.27 - $23.45 per hour (based on experience and position proficiency)

• $22.27/hour : Entry-level associates working up to three production positions.

• $22.86/hour : Experienced associates qualified to perform 4-7 production positions.

• $23.45/hour : Experienced associates qualified to perform 7+ production positions.

Compensation is based on verified experience, demonstrated skills, and the number of production positions an associate is qualified to perform.

Base pay offered may vary depending on factors such-as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and market location. Selected candidates may be eligible for a number of benefits, including: medical, prescription, dental, vision, 401(k), life insurance, disability, tuition assistance, sick and vacation time, as well as tire discounts.

About the Role: What will you do?

As a member of our retread team, you will play a role in recapping, remolding, or in other words, extending the life of an existing tire to get it back on the road!

In our retread plants you will have the opportunity to support the retread process through various stages:

• Inspect the tires to assess if they can be retread

• Buff the casing to remove any worn tread

• Remove embedded objects, rust, and repair the tire casing

• Using rubber cement or a patch, repair the casing before applying new tread

• Building the tire by applying new tread

• Curing the tire to mold the retread application

• Final Inspection to assess a safe and quality product
