Job summary

The Goodyear Tire & Rubber Company is hiring for an entry-level Retread Plant role at our Phoenix facility. This position trains on the job to learn tire retreading steps and supports the process from inspection to final quality checks.

Starting pay is $22.00 to $26.00 per hour (DOE) with overtime opportunities and weekly pay, with a 1:30 AM–10:30 AM shift, Monday through Friday. Comprehensive benefits, 401(k) matching, tuition assistance, and career advancement await the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship now or in the future.
• Basic computer skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Inspect tires to assess retread viability.
• Buff the tire casing to remove worn tread.
• Remove embedded objects, rust, and repair the casing.
• Repair the casing using rubber cement or patches before applying new tread.
• Build the tire by applying new tread.
• Cure the tire to set the retread application.
• Perform final inspection to ensure a safe, quality product.

As a member of our retread team, you will play a role in recapping, remolding, or in other words, extending the life of an existing tire to get it back on the road! In our retread plants you will have the opportunity to support the retread process through various stages:

• Inspect the tires to assess if they can be retread
• Buff the casing to remove any worn tread
• Remove embedded objects, rust, and repair the tire casing
• Using rubber cement or a patch, repair the casing before applying new tread
• Building the tire by applying new tread
• Curing the tire to mold the retread application
• Final Inspection to assess a safe and quality product
