Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a Production Associate to fabricate and assemble components for window systems in a fast-paced manufacturing environment in Rocky Mount, Virginia. The role involves mass-producing window parts, operating hand/power tools, and training new employees.

A training period may run up to six weeks, with shifts that include a third shift with differential pay. Benefits start on day one, and candidates must be 18+ and able to pass background and drug screening.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.
• Authorized to work in the US.
• Able to pass a background check and drug test.
• Able to stand for extended periods.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis.
• Prefer manufacturing experience.
• Prefer experience reading a tape measure.

Responsibilities

• Training period require working Monday through Friday 6a-6p and could last up to 6 weeks approximately.
• Perform repetitive workstation operations to mass-produce windows, doors, and glass units.
• May support the window operations in delivering, wrapping, loading, and unloading of materials or windows.
• Perform any workstation function using hand or power tools, saws, welders, or routers.
• Understand and carry out verbal instructions.
• Read and carry out simple written instructions.
• Read work orders, labels, and schedules.
• Use a tape measure and read measurements.
• Operate equipment as needed to perform the job.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
• Provide on-the-job training to new employees.

Pay: $16.00 per hour plus $1.50 per hour shift differential for 3rd shift

Shift 1st: 6:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday - Friday

Shift 3rd: 6:00 pm to 6:00 am Sunday - Thursday

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Production Associate is responsible for the fabrication and production of the component parts for the final assembly of windows. Successful candidates enjoy working in a fast-paced, physically demanding, and repetitive work environment, which includes heavy lifting or working with your hands. This job description is reflective of tasks that will be performed in a variety of departments.

• Training period require working Monday through Friday 6a - 6p and could last up to 6 weeks approximately
• Perform repetitive workstation operations to mass-produce windows, doors, and glass units
• May support the window operations in delivering, wrapping, loading, and unloading of materials or windows
• Perform any workstation function using hand or power tools, saws, welders, or routers
• Understand and carry out verbal instructions
• Read and carry out simple written instructions
• Read work orders, labels, and schedules
• Use a tape measure (will be asked to read measurements during interview), inspect, examine, and observe for product defects
• Make fraction and decimal conversions
• Operate any equipment needed to perform a job
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Provide on-the-job training to new employees

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age to apply
• Must be authorized to work in the US
• Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
• Ability to carry out written or verbal instructions
• Ability to stand for extended periods
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist
• Preferably with experience in manufacturing
• Preferably with experience reading a tape measure
