Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a Production Associate for our Rocky Mount, VA facility to fabricate component parts for final window assemblies. The role involves a fast-paced, physical environment with heavy lifting and repetitive tasks across departments.

Responsibilities include operating tools, reading orders and schedules, and training new hires. Eligible candidates must be 18+, pass background and drug tests, and be able to stand for long periods.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years of age to apply.

• Ability to carry out written or verbal instructions.
• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist.
• Preferably with experience in manufacturing.
• Preferably with experience reading a tape measure.

Responsibilities

• Mass-produce windows by performing repetitive workstation operations.
• Support window operations in delivering, wrapping, loading, and unloading materials or windows.
• Use hand or power tools, saws, welders, or routers as required.
• Provide on-the-job training to new employees.

Base Pay Rate: $16.00 per hour plus $1.50 per hour shift differential for 3rd shift

Shift 1st: 6:00 am to 6:00 pm Monday - Friday

Shift 3rd: 6:00 pm to 6:00 am Monday - Friday

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Production Associate is responsible for the fabrication and production of the component parts for the final assembly of windows. Successful candidates enjoy working in a fast-paced, physically demanding, and repetitive work environment, which includes heavy lifting or working with your hands. This job description is reflective of tasks that will be performed in a variety of departments.

• Training period require working Monday through Friday 6a - 6p and could last up to 6 weeks approximately
• Perform repetitive workstation operations to mass-produce windows, doors, and glass units
• May support the window operations in delivering, wrapping, loading, and unloading of materials or windows
• Perform any workstation function using hand or power tools, saws, welders, or routers
• Understand and carry out verbal instructions
• Read and carry out simple written instructions
• Read work orders, labels, and schedules
• Use a tape measure (will be asked to read measurements during interview), inspect, examine, and observe for product defects
• Make fraction and decimal conversions
• Operate any equipment needed to perform a job
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Provide on-the-job training to new employees
