Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a Production Associate for the Glasshouse during day shift in Rocky Mount, Virginia. The role involves fabricating components for final window assemblies in a fast-paced manufacturing setting, with a 3rd shift differential noted in the pay rate.

Responsibilities include mass-producing windows, operating hand/power tools, reading measurements, and contributing to a safe, productive work environment.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Authorized to work in the US.
• Able to pass a background check and drug test.
• Ability to follow written or verbal instructions.
• Able to stand for extended periods.
• Able to lift up to 50 pounds on a continual basis above shoulder height and below the waist.
• Preferably with experience in manufacturing.
• Preferably with experience reading a tape measure.

Responsibilities

• Fabricate and produce component parts for final window assembly.
• Perform repetitive workstation operations to mass-produce windows, doors, and glass units.
• Support window operations in delivering, wrapping, loading, and unloading materials or windows.
• Use hand or power tools, saws, welders, or routers to complete tasks.
• Read and follow verbal and written instructions and work orders.
• Read labels and schedules, and measure using a tape measure.
• Inspect products for defects and perform other duties as assigned.
• Provide on-the-job training to new employees.

JOB DETAILS

Base Pay Rate: $16.00 per hour, plus $1.50 per hour shift differential (3rd Shift)

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Production Associate is responsible for the fabrication and production of the component parts for the final assembly of windows. Successful candidates enjoy working in a fast-paced, physically demanding, and repetitive work environment, which includes heavy lifting or working with your hands. This job description is reflective of tasks that will be performed in a variety of departments.

• Training period require working Monday through Friday 6a - 6p and could last up to 6 weeks approximately
• Perform repetitive workstation operations to mass-produce windows, doors, and glass units
• May support the window operations in delivering, wrapping, loading, and unloading of materials or windows
• Perform any workstation function using hand or power tools, saws, welders, or routers
• Understand and carry out verbal instructions
• Read and carry out simple written instructions
• Read work orders, labels, and schedules
• Use a tape measure (will be asked to read measurements during interview), inspect, examine, and observe for product defects
• Make fraction and decimal conversions
• Operate any equipment needed to perform a job
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Provide on-the-job training to new employees
