Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands is seeking a Saw Operator for the 2nd shift (3:45 pm - 12:15 am) in New Jersey. The role involves operating a computerized cutting system to accurately cut vinyl parts for window assembly, performing quality audits, and maintaining 5S standards on the line.

You will lift up to 50 pounds, stand throughout the shift, read schedules, and move production carts between workstations while rotating through stations to gain cross-training opportunities.

Qualifications

• 1–3 years of experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
• Must be able to lift 50 pounds regularly and stand for the duration of the shift.
• Ability to measure lengths accurately to 1/32 inch.
• Ability to read and understand schedule/workflow reports.
• Capable of cross-training and rotating through line stations.

Responsibilities

• Operation of various hand tools to manually construct window units.
• Lift and move vinyl lineals from the storage area to saw workstation.
• Movement of carts in and out of production workstations.
• Sort and select the correct batch to process based on online’s schedule flow report.
• Operate safely equipment with computerized system.
• Loading vinyl components into the production carts.
• Place scrap in the corresponding barrel (as per 5S process).
• Maintain correct parts drops inventory listed in the system present in the drop bin location.
• Ensure overall quality of work produced by performing quality audits and engaging in problem solving.
• Audit quality check of cut parts.
• Performs 5S & housekeeping; downtime duties during line stoppages.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

TheSaw Operatoris responsible forusing a computerized cuttingsystem,the Saw Operator cuts vinyl to the exact dimensions of the parts needed for the final assembly of windows.Successful candidates enjoy working in a fast-paced, physically demanding, and repetitive work environment, which includes heavy lifting or working with your hands.

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimalsAbleto convert fractions to decimals.
