Job summary

Cornerstone Building Brands Saw Operator in New Jersey uses a computerized cutting system to cut vinyl to exact dimensions for window assembly. This full-time role requires standing, lifting up to 50 pounds, and working in a fast-paced production environment.

Responsibilities include handling hand tools, moving vinyl components, auditing quality, and maintaining 5S and housekeeping. Shift: 2nd (3:45 pm - 12:15 am), site at 1 Silverline Dr., North Brunswick, NJ 08902.

Qualifications

• Able to lift 50 pounds regularly and stand for the full shift.
• Cross-train and rotate on multiple workstations.
• Accurately measure lengths to 1/32 inch.
• Read and interpret workflow reports and instructions.
• Operate computerized equipment safely.

Responsibilities

• Operate hand tools to assemble window units.
• Lift and move vinyl lineals to the saw workstation.
• Move carts in and out of production areas.
• Sort batches based on line schedule flow.
• Operate equipment with the computerized system.
• Load vinyl components into production carts.
• Sort scrap per 5S; maintain inventory drops.
• Conduct quality audits and resolve issues.
• Audit cut parts for quality; perform 5S housekeeping.

JOB DETAILS

Starting Base Pay: $17.75 -$24.00per hour

2nd Shift: 3:45 pm - 12:15 am

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Saw Operator is responsible for using a computerized cutting system, the Saw Operator cuts vinyl to the exact dimensions of the parts needed for the final assembly of windows. Successful candidates enjoy working in a fast-paced, physically demanding, and repetitive work environment, which includes heavy lifting or working with your hands.

Responsibilities

• Operation of various hand tools to manually construct window units
• Lift and move vinyl lineals from the storage area to saw workstation.
• Movement of carts in and out of production workstations.
• Sort and select the correct batch to process based on line’s schedule flow report.
• Operate safely equipment with computerized system.
• Loading vinyl components into the production carts.
• Place scrap in the corresponding barrel (as per 5S process).
• Maintain correct parts drops inventory listed in the system present in the drop bin location?
• Ensures overall quality of work produced by performing quality audits and engaging in problem solving activities to resolve issues of concern.
• Audit quality check of cut parts.
• Performs 5S & housekeeping as expected. During line stoppages, performs downtime duties assigned to this workstation.

Qualifications

• Must be able to lift 50 pounds regularly and stand for duration of entire shift.
• Must cross-train and rotate on various workstations within line/complex.
• Ability to measure lengths accurately to 1/32”
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals Able to convert fractions to decimals.
• Ability to read and understand schedule’s workflow report, and written instructions.
• Capable of using computerized equipment
• Ability to move production carts.
• Be able to recognize part by shape and color.
• 1 - 3 years of experience working in a manufacturing environment preferred
