Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Production Support Engineer to maintain enterprise microservices and API gateways, ensuring reliability and performance in production environments. You will collaborate with application teams, platform admins, engineers, and business stakeholders to troubleshoot issues and drive operational excellence.

Responsibilities include supporting IBM App Connect, Kubernetes environments, and API gateways (APIC, APIM, Kong), with a strong focus on observability using Splunk,

Qualifications

• 5-7 years of relevant operations support experience.
• Experience with IBM App Connect, microservices, and API gateway technologies.
• Deep Kubernetes expertise, including deployment management, scaling, upgrades, troubleshooting, cluster operations.
• Experience with API gateway platforms and observability tools.
• Familiarity with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) best practices (SLIs/SLOs, incident response, post-mortems).

Responsibilities

• Provide production and administrative support for IBM App Connect, microservices, and API gateway environments.
• Support distributed systems in production to ensure platform reliability and performance.
• Manage and troubleshoot Kubernetes deployments, scaling, upgrades, and cluster operations.
• Support API gateway platforms (APIC, APIM, Kong) for traffic management and observability.
• Use Splunk, AppDynamics, Instana to monitor health and logs and drive improvements.
• Perform RCA on complex production incidents and implement preventive actions.
