Job summary

Cognizant is seeking a Production Support Engineer to maintain and stabilize enterprise microservices and API gateway platforms in production. You will troubleshoot issues, improve service reliability, and collaborate with application teams and platform admins.

Hybrid role with 3 days in Buffalo Grove, IL or Richardson, TX offices. Candidates should have deep Kubernetes, API gateway, and observability experience and a strong SRE mindset.

Qualifications

• 8 years of relevant experience in operations support.
• Hands-on knowledge of Kubernetes in production.
• Experience with IBM App Connect and API gateways.
• Strong distributed systems design and troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with SRE practices and incident response.

Responsibilities

• Provide production support for IBM App Connect, microservices, and API gateway environments.
• Manage Kubernetes deployments, scaling, upgrades, and cluster operations.
• Monitor system health using Splunk, AppDynamics, Instana, or similar tools.
• Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and implement preventive measures.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve reliability.
