A leading manufacturer in specialty print media seeks a Production and Shipping Supervisor in Nevada, IA, to streamline operations. You'll lead teams, ensure quality and compliance, and manage budgets to support efficiency and growth, all while working in a culture of accountability and safety.
Your Impact:
The Production and Shipping Supervisor is responsible for coordinating and overseeing day-to-day production and logistics operations. This role ensures efficient production workflows, timely shipment of goods, accurate inventory management, and alignment with company quality and safety standards. The supervisor plays a key role in driving productivity, meeting delivery deadlines, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
What You'll Be Doing:
Organizational Development (20%)
Lead and motivate production and shipping teams to meet performance targets while promoting a culture of accountability and safety.
Hire and develop top performers across all production and shipping roles—individuals who consistently give their best, take ownership, and are accountable for delivering results.
Collaborate and interface effectively with all cross-functional departments—including Commercial, Finance, HR, Planning, Purchasing, and Product Development—to maximize operational success and enhance expertise across the entire organization.
Core Operations Excellence (70%)
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards and regulations.
Supervise daily production and shipping activities to ensure adherence to schedules, quality standards, and customer delivery requirements.
Effectively manage and deliver operational performance goals by consistently meeting or exceeding production and shipping targets in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and efficiency.
Deliver efficient shipping operations supporting Nekoosa’s Same/Next Day Service Model, striving to achieve Make-To-Order turnaround times under 5 days from customer receipt.
Manage and schedule production and shipping staff, providing ongoing training, coaching, and guidance to ensure team efficiency and development.
Manage the shipping budget to ensure cost efficiency by monitoring expenses, optimizing resource allocation, and achieving at least a 10% reduction in shipping costs annually without compromising service quality.
Collaborate with planning, purchasing, and customer service teams to exceed customer delivery expectations > 95% through seamless coordination and proactive communication.
Support sustainability initiatives that reduce environmental impact, optimize resource usage, and support the company’s commitment to long-term environmental responsibility.
Project Execution (10%)
Support strategic initiatives by providing leadership and accountability to execute site project plans effectively.
What It Takes:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Operations, or a related field preferred but not required; relevant experience will also be considered.
Minimum of 3 years’ supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing, warehousing or logistics environment.
Proficient knowledge of production processes, quality control, and lean manufacturing principles such as Six Sigma, Kaizen, and 5S.
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems and Microsoft Office Suite.

Salary Range: $65,000-$75,000 Dependenton experience
