Position Overview

The Product Sales Manager (PSM) is responsible for driving the growth and strategic positioning of Payroc's product offerings across all sales channels. Acting as the main point of contact between Payroc and product vendors, the PSM continuously collaborates to enhance product functionality, drive sales, and expand market penetration. This role involves managing vendor relationships, overseeing product development feedback, and executing marketing and sales strategies tailored to the payment processing landscape. The PSM filters enhancement requests, submits bug reports, and manages spotlight initiatives that highlight the value of the product to various stakeholders, from sales teams to end merchants.

Duties and Responsibilities
  • Vendor Relationship Management
    • Serve as the primary liaison between Payroc and product vendors. Communicate product needs, feature enhancements, and bug fixes, ensuring alignment with vendor roadmaps and sales objectives.
  • Sales Strategy & Product Positioning
    • Collaborate with Payroc’s sales and marketing teams to design and implement spotlight programs, promotional spiffs, and sales collateral that drive product visibility and adoption.
    • Position the product in a way that resonates with specific sales channels (ISOs, direct sales, agents, etc.) and meets industry demand.
  • Product Launch & Training
    • Lead the rollout of new products, working with the Product Management Team to develop business cases, financial models, and product grids.
    • Coordinate with internal teams to provide ongoing product training, ensuring Payroc’s Sales Advocates are well-equipped to close deals and upsell additional features or complementary products like RewardPay or Quantic.
  • Market & Competitive Analysis
    • Conduct regular competitive product analysis, identifying the strengths and weaknesses of competing solutions.
    • Provide insights on how Payroc’s products differentiate from others in the payment processing space, enabling the sales team to overcome objections and position Payroc as the preferred solutions.
  • Performance Monitoring & Reporting
    • Track product performance across Payroc’s sales channels, analyzing metrics such as close ratios, sales volume, and customer feedback.
    • Use this data to fine-tune strategies and flag areas where product enhancements or competitive positioning might be necessary.
  • Product Enhancement & Bug Management
    • Act as the escalation point for product bugs and enhancement requests.
    • Work closely with the Product Managers Team to ensure timely resolution of issues and drive continuous product improvement.
  • Sales Enablement & Upsell Opportunities
    • Continuously update sales teams on new features, upsell opportunities, and best-fit applications of the product.
    • Act as a consultant, helping Sales Advocates understand the nuances of where Payroc’s products excel, and identifying cross-sell opportunities that increase the average deal size.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 2-4 years of product sales management experience in the payment processing, point of sale, or merchant services industries.
  • Minimum of 1+ years leading sales initiatives for payment processing products, including point of sale systems, payment gateways, and accounting platforms.
  • Strong technical aptitude with the ability to quickly grasp new technologies and multitask in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively in a cross-functional team setting, as well as work independently to meet goals.
Working Conditions
  • We are committed to providing an ergonomic work environment to ensure the health and well-being of our employees.
  • Frequent interaction with team members, management, agents, Business Development Managers (BDMs), and external partners to facilitate smooth operations and collaborations.
Travel Component
  • Occasional travel is required, up to 25%, to meet with vendors, support sales teams, or attend industry events.
Job Classification
  • Exempt
