Job Description:

Enterprise Technology is seeking a Product Quality Analyst, Degree Planner to provide dedicated manual testing support within the Product & UX portfolio, reporting to the Director of Product, Enterprise Technology. This role is the last line of verification before a change reaches students, faculty, or staff; confirming that new features and fixes behave as intended, that existing functionality hasn't regressed, and that releases are backed by evidence rather than assumption.

The Product Quality Analyst works closely with Product Managers, Product Coordinators, and development teams throughout the release lifecycle. This includes translating requirements and acceptance criteria into concrete test plans and test cases, executing manual functional and regression testing across releases, and clearly documenting, reproducing, and tracking defects through resolution. The role also supports user acceptance testing by preparing test scenarios and helping to coordinate stakeholder sign-off ahead of release.

Position Salary Range:

$56,900 - $70,000 per year; DOA

Essential Duties:
  • Translate requirements and acceptance criteria into detailed test plans, test cases, and test scripts for new features and enhancements.
  • Execute manual functional, regression, and exploratory testing across releases to verify that features work as intended and existing functionality has not broken.
  • Identify, document, and reproduce defects with clear steps, expected vs. actual results, and supporting evidence (screenshots, logs) to support efficient triage and resolution.
  • Track defects through resolution, working with developers and Product Managers to confirm fixes and re-test as needed.
  • Support user acceptance testing (UAT) by preparing test scenarios, coordinating stakeholder participation, and consolidating feedback.
  • Maintain test case libraries and testing documentation so coverage stays current as products evolve.
  • Assess release readiness and communicate quality risk, defect severity, and open issues clearly to the Product Manager and other stakeholders ahead of go/no-go decisions.
  • Coordinate testing schedules and effort around release timelines and ASU's academic calendar to minimize risk during high-stakes institutional windows.
  • Develop working knowledge of the products under test, their user base, and ASU's academic operations to inform testing priorities and risk judgment.
  • Leverage AI in routine tasks and contribute ideas for using AI to improve the unit's efficiency and overall performance.
  • Take responsibility for fostering a positive culture, upholding organizational values, and championing engagement in all its forms.
  • Collaborate across teams and actively participate in ET/ASU events and programs.
Desired Qualifications:
  • Experience writing and executing manual test cases and test plans against documented requirements or acceptance criteria.
  • Experience identifying, documenting, and tracking software defects through resolution.
  • Experience with functional and regression testing across multiple releases.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and ability to reproduce and clearly communicate issues to technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Strong written communication skills for test documentation and defect reporting.
  • Experience with test case management or defect tracking tools (e.g., Jira, TestRail, Zephyr, Azure DevOps).
  • Experience coordinating or supporting user acceptance testing (UAT) with business stakeholders.
  • Experience testing web or SaaS applications, including cross-browser or basic accessibility checks.
  • Familiarity with agile/scrum release cycles and working within sprint-based testing timelines.
  • Experience supporting products in higher education, student information systems, or other enterprise/institutional software.
  • Demonstrated ability to model empathy, compassion, and emotional intelligence.
  • Experience in a values-driven organization with a strong commitment to inclusion and belonging.
  • Ability to cultivate a psychologically safe environment where all team members can thrive.
  • Capacity to inspire and drive meaningful change in individual, institutional, and corporate behaviors to support a more sustainable environment.
  • Commitment to leading by example through effective communication, active participation, and advocacy for the institution's sustainability programs.
