Job description

• Strong foundational knowledge of manual testing principles, including test case design, types of testing (functional, regression, API, performance), and defect management


• Technical skill to write, run, and maintain automated test scripts (Playwright, TypeScript, Java, k6, MCP, AI-assisted testing, and others)


• Proficiency in using developer tools, reading error logs, and tracing the source of an issue to provide detailed information to developers (Google DevTools, application logs, HTTP requests/responses, stack traces, heap dumps, etc.)


• Proficiency in translating high-level business and functional requirements into detailed, efficient, and comprehensive test cases


• Knowledge of industry-wide quality assurance measures, testing standards, and current best practices


• Knowledge of identifying potential quality risks, assessing their impact and likelihood, and formulating effective mitigation strategies


• Ability to be proactive in identifying potential issues early in the development lifecycle rather than reactively finding them later


• Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with software engineers, system personnel, and management


• Ability to adapt to new challenges, pivot strategies when data suggests a different path, and remain resilient in the face of setbacks


• Excellent debugging and problem-solving skills


• Competency with test management tools (Zephyr Scale, GitLab, etc.) for logging bugs and tracking test progress


• Knowledge of various database systems, including relational databases and NoSQL databases


• Experience with specialized test data management and data governance platforms


• Ability to analyze test requirements and profile existing production data


• Deep understanding of core testing principles, including test case design techniques (boundary value analysis, equivalence partitioning), defect lifecycles, and how testing integrates into various methodologies


• Technical skill to design realistic performance test scenarios, which involves scripting user journeys, parameterizing data, and creating load models


• Ability to systematically break down complex processes


• Proficiency in one or more programming or scripting languages


• Ability to execute predefined test cases and also perform unscripted exploratory testing
