McLeod Software is seeking a Product Owner to drive the strategy for McLeod Software Implementations and translate customer and business needs into clear priorities that deliver meaningful value.

The role emphasizes owning the backlog, collaborating with stakeholders, and advocating for the customer while developing user stories and maintaining documentation. Travel is modest and McLeod values cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree with 4+ years of relevant experience, or 8+ years in product ownership, business analytics, and/or project management.
• McLeod experience may be substituted for other experience on a year-for-year basis.
• Average travel of ~5% with possible overnight or weekend travel.

Responsibilities

• Own, manage, and prioritize the product backlog based on customer needs, business objectives, and product strategy.
• Partner with stakeholders and the Product Manager to define and refine product requirements.
• Serve as a strong advocate for the customer throughout the development process.
• Create and refine user stories, ensuring they are development-ready.
• Communicate priorities, customer needs, and business value to the development team.
• Collaborate with Engineering and Quality Assurance to ensure solutions address customer problems.
• Support product and release planning across cross-functional teams.
• Contribute customer, market, and competitive insights to product decisions.
• Develop customer personas independently or with UX teams.
• Create and maintain clear, accurate product documentation.
• Collaborate across teams and influence outcomes without formal authority.
