Job summary

Global Alliant, Inc. is seeking a Product Owner (Data Migration) to lead data migration initiatives in Rockville, MD.

This role offers hybrid/remote options and requires US citizenship; candidate must be willing to complete federal background checks. You will partner with engineering and data teams to define mapping rules, transformation logic, validation requirements, and a plan for end-to-end migration, including testing, cutover, and post-migration validation.

Qualifications

• Experience in complex system implementations with at least 3 years in data migration.
• Proven Agile delivery with ownership of user stories, backlog, acceptance criteria, and roadmap planning.
• Partner with engineering/data teams to define mapping rules and transformation logic.
• End-to-end migration activities from discovery to post-migration validation.
• Translate technical findings into clear business requirements and decisions.
• Coordinate across product, business, development, QA, architecture, and leadership teams.
• Identify and manage delivery risks, dependencies and priorities.
• Facilitation and stakeholder management to drive agreement across teams.
• Communicate complex data topics clearly to technical and non-technical audiences.

Product Owner (Data Migration) - Rockville, MD (Hybrid / Remote options available) Full-time Position. Candidates should possess US Citizenship, reside in US and be willing to go through the federal background check due to the nature of the client.

• Proven experience contributing to complex system implementation or modernization programs, with at least 3 years focused on data migration, conversion, legacy transformation, or related initiatives.
• Strong Agile product delivery experience, including ownership of user stories, backlog refinement, prioritization, acceptance criteria, and roadmap planning.
• Ability to partner with engineering and data teams to define mapping rules, transformation logic, validation requirements, reconciliation processes, and data quality expectations.
• Solid understanding of end-to-end migration activities, from initial data discovery and profiling through cleansing, transformation, conversion, testing, cutover, reconciliation, and post-migration validation.
• Skilled at turning technical findings and migration challenges into clear business requirements, decisions, and next steps.
• Experience coordinating across product, business, development, QA, architecture, and leadership teams to keep migration efforts aligned and progressing.
• Strong ability to identify and manage delivery risks, dependencies, competing priorities, and key decisions across large-scale implementation efforts.
• Excellent facilitation and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to lead discussions, clarify requirements, and drive agreement across multiple teams.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex data and migration topics clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
