Job summary

Concept Solutions, LLC is seeking a Senior Data Migration Engineer to lead data migration initiatives for a DoW modernization program. You will design repeatable migration processes, ensure data integrity, and support production cutover activities in a federal environment.

The ideal candidate has 7+ years in data engineering, advanced SQL (PostgreSQL and commercial RDBMS), hands-on ETL or Python, and experience with AWS GovCloud/DMS, plus an active Secret clearance.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in data engineering with participation in at least two production data migrations.
• Advanced SQL knowledge with PostgreSQL and at least one commercial relational database.
• Hands-on experience with ETL tools or Python scripting for data transformation and validation.
• Experience with AWS GovCloud, AWS DMS or comparable migration tools.
• Active Secret security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Plan and lead large-scale data migrations between enterprise systems, including data profiling, mapping, transformation and reconciliation.
• Design and build repeatable, auditable migration pipelines with validation reporting and rollback capabilities.
• Execute trial migrations, identify and resolve data-quality issues in collaboration with data owners, and support production cutover activities.
• Document data lineage, migration methodologies, and key decisions to support audit requirements and operational handoff.

Description Concept Solutions, LLC (CS) is seeking an experienced Senior Data Migration Engineer to support a mission-critical application modernization program for a Department of War (DoW) customer.

In this role, you will lead complex data migration initiatives, ensuring the accurate, secure, and reliable transfer of data between enterprise systems. You will play a critical role in designing repeatable migration processes, maintaining data integrity, and supporting successful production transitions.

Plan and lead large-scale data migrations between enterprise systems, including data profiling, mapping, transformation, and reconciliation.

Design and build repeatable, auditable migration pipelines with comprehensive validation reporting and rollback capabilities.

Execute trial migrations, identify and resolve data-quality issues in collaboration with data owners, and support production cutover activities.

Document data lineage, migration methodologies, and key decisions to support audit requirements, knowledge transfer, and operational handoff.

• Schedule: Full-time, Monday through Friday, with core hours of 9:00 a.m. Work is organized into two-week sprints, with a customer demonstration each sprint.
• Travel: 0–10%, within the Washington, DC metropolitan area.
• Candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain a DoW security clearance. An active Secret clearance or higher is strongly preferred and may allow an earlier start.
