Job summary

Benchling, the AI platform for biotech R&D, is hiring a Product Manager to own prioritization and roadmap for our core infrastructure teams. You'll convert engineering pain, customer requests, and business priorities into a clear, defensible plan and make prioritization calls with the team to focus on high-impact work.

You don't need to be a systems architect, but you should understand infrastructure well enough to work with engineering on crisp trade-offs.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of product management experience with infra/platform exposure.
• Track record of making prioritization calls under pressure.
• Ability to translate technical constraints into business narrative.
• Strong communication skills.
• Enough technical fluency to discuss with engineers.

Responsibilities

• Own the infra direction and convert pain, requests and priorities into a prioritized roadmap.
• Find latent infrastructure needs by talking to internal teams and external customers.
• Make and defend prioritization calls to engineering and executives.
• Build the business case for infra investments and define problems, not designs.
• Coordinate across orgs and align dependent-team needs with infra roadmap.
• Define key metrics (reliability, cost, adoption) and track outcomes.
• Partner on cloud economics and strategic infra investments including forecasts and cost optimization.
