Job summary

Dow seeks a Counsel in its Litigation group to independently advise clients and lead complex product liability matters. The role focuses on strategic case management, collaboration with internal experts, and efficient coordination of discovery with external counsel.

The ideal candidate holds a JD or LL.M., at least seven years of practice, and is eligible to practice in the United States. Domestic relocation may be offered, with travel up to 25%.

Qualifications

• Juris doctor or LL.M. required.
• Minimum 7 years practicing as an attorney.
• US bar admission or eligible for admission; travel up to 25% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent legal counsel to clients.
• Manage external counsel and experts.
• Review and draft legal documents.
• Oversee discovery coordination and involvement in docket management.
• Collaborate with internal legal subject matter experts and other Company resources.
• Oversee paralegals and legal staff in the Litigation group.
• Establish and monitor case budgets and strategic direction for each case.
• Develop and implement settlement strategies.
• Proactively communicate with Legal Department management and clients.
• Participate in depositions, hearings and trials.
