Job summary

Dow is seeking a Counsel in its Litigation group with a preferred location in Midland, MI, and Houston, TX as an alternative. You will manage a wide range of Dow and affiliated companies' litigation, including asbestos personal injury and other product liability matters.

The role requires a JD or LLM, at least 7 years of practice, bar admission or eligibility, and willingness to travel up to 25% annually. Domestic relocation assistance is available for this position.

Qualifications

• Juris doctor or Master of Laws required.
• Minimum of 7 years practicing as an attorney.
• Admission to State Bar or eligible for admission.

Responsibilities

• Independently provide legal counsel to clients.
• Provide client legal training and education on a variety of topics.
• Review and draft legal documents.
• Actively manage external counsel and experts.
• Collaborate with internal legal subject matter experts and other Company resources.
• Oversee paralegals and administrative staff in the Legal Department and coordinating with business and functional clients within Dow and its affiliated companies concerning discovery.
• Establish and monitor expense budgets.
• Set strategic direction for each case and related docket of cases.
• Develop and implement settlement strategies.
• Proactively communicate to Legal Department management and clients.
• Participate directly in key depositions, hearings and trials.
• Oversee appellate issues.
