Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. in Dayton, OH is seeking a Director of Finance to partner with Product Line General Managers, overseeing budgeting, forecasting, and financial controls.

This leadership role drives working capital and cash flow, directs a finance team, supports pricing strategy, and ensures compliance with SOX and audits.

The position requires 12+ years in finance in aerospace/defense, 5+ years in management, and a proven record of building robust financial processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance or Accounting is required.
• Minimum 12+ years of finance experience in Aerospace/Defense/Technology
• 5+ years direct managerial experience
• Experience with project accounting
• Experience with ERP/FP&A systems (Oracle/Hyperion/Unanet/OneStream)
• Experience in a product-based company with inventory and warranty accounting
• Experience in a public company

Responsibilities

• Direct financial assurance and control, including financial reporting, forecasts and budgeting.
• Oversee day-to-day leadership to Product Line staff.
• Lead pricing/Proposal activities, bid reviews, and margin monitoring.
• Develop and implement financial strategy at the Product Line level.
• Drive Finance improvement initiatives to improve results.
• Ensure compliance and key financial controls across the function.
• Perform complex financial analyses for monthly/quarterly/annual submissions.
• Provide regular ad hoc financial analyses and information.
• Manage staff performance, training, and development.
• Participate in Product Line leadership and strategic reviews.
• Support investments approvals and forecast for IR&D, sustaining, capital.
