Job summary

Eaton's Power Distribution and Controls Assemblies business seeks Product Engineers to provide electrical and mechanical design and documentation support, with relocation assistance available.

The role emphasizes collaboration with application engineers and manufacturing, design automation, and maintaining manufacturing documentation across multiple US facilities, including Sumter, SC. A competitive salary and benefits package accompany relocation support.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution or currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s Degree program in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution with an expected graduation date before July 2027.
• Minimum overall cumulative GPA of 2.8 (please don't round).
• Eaton will not sponsor immigration or support CPT/OPT/STEM OPT or related visa processes.
• Minimum of one internship or co-op experience or an equivalent of 3 months of related experience.
• Must be willing to relocate within the United States to an Eaton facility including: Asheville, NC, Fayetteville, NC, Sumter, SC, Greenwood, SC, or El Paso, TX

Responsibilities

• Consult with plant and field sales engineers in interpreting and defining new equipment applications.
• Develop complex drawings and bills-of-materials based on established product designs with sufficient detail for customer understanding.
• Coordinate mechanical and electrical interfaces with other products.
• Advise Drafting/Design, Manufacturing, and Purchasing on information needed for accurate production of equipment.
• Manage purchaser onsite visits to approve and/or release equipment for shipping.
• Manage Manufacturing and Engineering Change Notices.
• Demonstrate advanced computer skills with Bid Manager, AutoCAD, Design Automation, MAPICS.
• Consult with Quality to resolve post-shipment issues when required.
• Conduct special development/application projects of a complex nature.
• Inform cost and cycle time improvement activities.
• Conduct technical training guidance and seminars as required.
• Analyze needs and revise Department Policies and Procedures.
