Job summary

Eaton’s Power Distribution and Controls Assemblies business is seeking Product Engineers to join our team in multiple locations including Sumter, SC. The role provides electrical and mechanical design support for power distribution product lines, with opportunity for relocation assistance.

The position offers a salary range of $75,000–$90,000 per year, plus benefits and a competitive total rewards package. You’ll collaborate with application engineers and manufacturing, maintain documentation,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering from an accredited institution
• Minimum GPA 2.8 (no rounding)
• Geographically flexible to relocate to Eaton facilities in the United States

Responsibilities

• Consult with plant and field sales engineers to interpret and define new equipment applications
• Develop complex drawings and BOMs with sufficient detail for customer equipment applications
• Coordinate mechanical and electrical interfaces with other products
• Advise drafting/design, manufacturing, and purchasing on information for equipment production
• Manage purchaser onsite visits to approve/release equipment for shipping
• Manage Manufacturing and Engineering Change Notices
• Demonstrate proficiency with design software (Bid Manager, AutoCAD, MAPICS)
• Consult with Quality to resolve issues after shipment
• Conduct development/application projects of a complex nature
• Inform cost and cycle time improvement activities
• Provide technical training and seminars as required
• Analyze needs and suggest revisions to department policies and procedures
