Job summary

The Dixon Group in Chestertown, MD is seeking a Product Engineer to join our team. You will approve manufactured parts, provide design input, and manage projects to drive continuous improvement. A bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and 1–3 years of experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 1–3 years of engineering experience.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and drawing creation; SolidWorks experience preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with sales and customers to answer product questions and assist with new product requests.
• Use SolidWorks to design new products and analyze the function of existing products.
• Oversee the design of products and collaborate with engineers to approve manufacturing drawings before production.
• Manage projects covering new product concepts, current line expansions, cost reduction initiatives, and product improvements.
• Perform basic engineering calculations to ensure design adequacy.
• Create clear goals for design, process, and manufacturing teams.
• Inspect and approve manufactured parts and analyze returned parts.
• Perform product testing and failure analysis on parts.
