Job summary

The Dixon Group in Chestertown, Maryland is seeking a Product Engineer to drive product design improvements and manufacturing support. You will collaborate with engineers to approve drawings, manage projects from concept to production, and analyze part performance using SolidWorks and basic calculations.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering with 1–3 years of experience, strong communication, and hands-on problem-solving abilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 1–3 years of engineering experience.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD modeling and drawing creation.
• Strong fundamentals in mechanical design and statics.
• Excellent technical problem-solving and communication skills.
• Proficient troubleshooting and data-interpretation abilities.

Responsibilities

• Communicate with sales and customers to answer product questions and assist with new product requests.
• Use SolidWorks to design new products and analyze the function of existing products.
• Oversee the design of products and approve manufacturing drawings prior to production.
• Manage projects covering new product concepts, current product line expansions, cost reduction initiatives, and product improvements.
• Inspect and approve manufactured parts – both internally and externally manufactured.
• Conduct analysis on returned customer parts.
• Perform product testing and failure analysis on returned and manufactured parts.
