DMA Industries, LLC in Marion, SC, is seeking a Product Engineer to join the Product R&D team. You will lead development, validation, and continuous improvement of suspension parts and related components, ensuring performance meets internal and customer expectations.

The role requires hands-on engineering, collaboration with global manufacturing partners, and strong CAD, GD&T, and APQP/DFMEA knowledge. Travel may be required to supplier sites and trade shows, and you will help document processes

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field; or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 5 years relevant experience; automotive industry preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; capable of managing multiple priorities.
• Proficiency in CAD, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint; strong documentation skills.
• Familiarity with APQP, DFMEA, GD&T and product development lifecycle.
• Willingness to travel domestically or internationally.

Responsabilidades

• Lead prototype development, qualification, and approval for new parts.
• Conduct product validation activities through performance testing, design reviews, and calculations.
• Develop and maintain detailed product specifications and performance requirements.
• Prepare and maintain accurate drawings, specifications, and development records.
• Utilize 2D/3D CAD software and 3D scanning tools for design and optimization.
• Analyze test results and data to refine products and support design decisions.
• Collaborate with DMA’s approved manufacturing partners to improve designs.
• Participate in regular design and quality review meetings with DMA factory partners.
• Review quality reports and warranty data to identify improvement areas.
• Stay informed on competitive products and innovations in suspension systems.
• Conduct tear-down and benchmarking of competitor and OE products.
• Collaborate with Sales and Product teams to meet customer needs in development.
• Provide engineering input for product launches, marketing, and presentations.
• Create SOPs and supporting documentation as needed.
• Apply knowledge of dampening, suspension design, force/stress, metallurgy to optimize performance.
• Lead cost-reduction and product improvement initiatives; support APQP, DFMEA, GD&T.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.
