Job description

The Product Development Engineer is responsible for delivering effective and economically viable textile-centric product solutions aligned with the company's strategic goals. This includes working with materials such as BCF nylon, polyester, polypropylene yarns, staple fibers, and natural fibers like cotton and wool. The role involves collaboration with internal teams and suppliers, project management, and ensuring product designs meet manufacturability, cost, and quality standards.

The key responsibilities include:

  1. Developing and obtaining customer approval for new material constructions.
  2. Creating specifications for raw materials and semi-finished goods.
  3. Supporting development activities, program launches, and benchmarking efforts.
  4. Conducting thermal profiling and leading product development trials.
  5. Coordinating with purchasing for raw material sourcing and maintaining documentation in the product lifecycle management system.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A Bachelor of Science in Textile Engineering, Mechanical Engineering with textile minor, or related fields.
  • 1+ years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Strong technical communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Office, and the ability to work under pressure and travel as needed.
