Job Summary:

Responsible for new product design and development through the administration of project management skills. Responsible for at least $150MM of product including all aspects of design development, and product maintenance. Administers large, complex, and technically challenging multi-functional projects.

Responsibilities:

1. Design and develop new products through technical leadership and the administration of project management skills. Assure that deliverables and schedules are met.
2. Maintain and update standard product line for continued cost effectiveness and manufacturability. Includes maintaining technical accuracy of all product databases and engineering and sales collateral.
3. Identify and implement projects to keep Belden's design capabilities compatible with new materials, technologies, and product applications.
4. Identify and implement changes or additions in product testing, test procedures, or test systems that enhance the product line. This includes tests for new transmission parameters and in-process testing to ensure completed product compliance.
5. Monitor industry technical standards' activities where necessary to best serve Belden's interest.
6. Protect Belden's intellectual properties and review all product designs for potential patentability.
7. Work with sales and marketing to identify market technology drivers and to establish appropriate relationships.
8. Work with manufacturing to identify design improvements that increase product value by lower scrap, increased throughput, or lower standard cost.
9. Perform all other duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience:

1. Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering or other technical field combined with a minimum of five (5) years electronic cable design or equivalent experience. Project management experience is also required.
2. Knowledge of Wire & Cable markets.
3. MS Office programs, written and oral fluency in English.
