Job summary

UNIS is hiring a Product Designer to own key areas of our web and mobile applications from Buena Park, CA. • Use customer feedback, usability testing, and analytics to guide design decisions and measure results.
• Use AI tools to speed up research, concepts, and prototyping, while refining outputs.
• Contribute to the design system and keep files, specs, and docs up to date.
• Support engineers during development, review builds before release, and present in design reviews.

Product Designer - Chinese Speaking

Buena Park, CA

Employment Type: Full-Time

Rate of Pay: $90,000 - $95,000/yr

UNIS is hiring a Product Designer to own key areas of our web and mobile applications. You will design new features and also be responsible for improving the parts of the product our customers and teams already use. You will work closely with Product, Engineering, and Research. We are looking for someone with strong design skills and good product judgment who can work independently and take full ownership of their areas. We expect our designers to use AI tools to work faster and explore more ideas, while the thinking, decisions, and final quality stay with you.

Responsibilities

• Lead design for new features across web and mobile, creating user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and final UI designs.
• Own existing product areas and improve them over time by fixing usability issues and updating older designs.
• Work with Product and Engineering to define requirements and balance new work with product improvements.
• Use customer feedback, usability testing, and analytics to guide design decisions and measure results after release.
• Use AI tools to speed up research synthesis, early concepts, and prototyping, while reviewing and refining all output yourself.
• Contribute to our design system and keep design files, specs, and documentation up to date.
• Support engineers during development, review builds before release and present your work in design reviews.

What You Bring to the Table:

Minimum Requirements

• Must be bilingual; Chinese & English
• 3 to 5 years of experience in product design, including launching new features and improving existing web or mobile applications.
• A portfolio that shows your process, decisions, and results.
• Strong interaction design, visual design, and accessibility skills, with advanced Figma experience.
• Hands-on experience using AI tools in your design workflow, with the judgment to know when the output needs more work.
• Experience working on cross-functional agile teams, with strong communication skills and the ability to explain your design decisions.

Preferred Requirements

• Experience working on a design system.
• Experience updating older or legacy products.
• Experience in logistics, supply chain, or warehouse software, or with data-heavy, workflow-based applications.
• Basic knowledge of frontend development frameworks and templates.
• Experience using AI prototyping or code-based tools such as Figma Make, v0, or Cursor to test ideas quickly.
