Job summary

Jasper Engines & Transmissions in Jasper, IN is seeking a Product Development - Design Engineer to design, develop, and maintain prints for parts, tooling, and equipment. You will create detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using Solidworks or Creo, and apply GD&T to ensure manufacturability.

You will operate CMMs for inspection and reverse engineering, develop inspection programs, and collaborate with New Product Development, Sourcing, Quality, and ITD to deliver accurate, efficient

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Solid understanding of GD&T and dimensional tolerancing.
• Hands-on experience with CMM inspection and dimensional metrology.
• Experience with CAD modeling and engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop engine components, tooling, dies, fixtures, gauges, and manufacturing equipment.
• Develop 3D models and detailed drawings using Solidworks or Creo.
• Operate and write CMM programs for inspection and reverse engineering.
• Create CMM inspection strategies and verify dimensional conformance.
• Review supplier prints and ensure GD&T and specs are met.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to resolve issues.
• Support print revisions and engineering changes.
• Ensure supplier documentation reflects engineering requirements.
