Job summary

Jasper Engines & Transmissions in Jasper, IN is seeking a Product Development - Product Design Engineer to design, develop, and maintain prints for engine components, tooling, and equipment. You will create detailed 3D models, drawings in SolidWorks or Creo, and work with suppliers to finalize external prints.

Responsibilities include running CMM programs for reverse engineering and inspection, applying GD&T, and supporting NPD, Sourcing, and QA teams to deliver manufacturable designs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in mechanical/manufacturing engineering.
• Strong understanding of GD&T and dimensional tolerancing.
• Hands-on experience with CMM inspection and dimensional metrology.
• Experience with CAD modeling and engineering drawings.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop engine components, tooling, dies, fixtures, gauges, and manufacturing equipment.
• Develop detailed 3D models and engineering drawings using SolidWorks or Creo.
• Operate and utilize CMM for dimensional inspection, product validation, and reverse engineering.
• Develop CMM inspection programs and measurement strategies as required.
• Reverse engineer existing components and tooling using CMM and precision equipment.
• Apply GD&T and engineering principles to ensure designs are functional and manufacturable.
• Support print revisions, engineering changes, and continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering to resolve design issues.
• Review supplier drawings and ensure accuracy to specifications.
