Job summary

Paragon Legal Group seeks an experienced interim Product Counsel to support its product legal team during an attorney leave. The role partners with the product team on a range of matters including product documents, open source software, commercial escalations, RFPs, data mapping, and GTM initiatives.

The ideal candidate has a strong Product Counsel foundation, hands-on OSS experience, and prefers public-company exposure; cybersecurity industry experience is a plus.

Job description

The Position

A leading cybersecurity company is seeking an experienced interim Product Counsel to support its product legal team during an upcoming attorney leave. This attorney will partner closely with the product team and support a variety of product and product-adjacent matters, including product document review, open source software matters, commercial legal escalations, RFP/customer questionnaires, acquisition integration and data mapping, new go-to-market initiatives, trademark clearance searches, and updates to website terms and conditions.

The ideal candidate will have a strong Product Counsel foundation and hands-on open source software experience, which is a must-have for this role. Public company experience is strongly preferred, as is prior experience within the cybersecurity industry. The team operates in an extremely fast-paced, high-volume environment, so this person should be able to ramp quickly, work independently, exercise strong business judgment and critical thinking, and proactively communicate ownership, priorities, and timing.

This project starts between mid-December and January 4, is expected to last five to six months, is fully remote and time zone agnostic, and requires a minimum of 20 hours per week with the potential for up to 40 hours per week.
The hourly rate for this assignment is expected to be between $105 and $115 This range is an estimate; an employee’s compensation will be based on the employee’s qualifications, skillset, and relevant experience, specific client needs, project requirements, and other considerations permitted by law.
