Job description

We are a company of film editors with a passion for storytelling who are committed to mentoring

talent and establishing lasting relationships with directors and agencies worldwide.

Cabin is an established post production home built on collaboration and dedication to the craft.

ROLE DESCRIPTION The Producer works closely with the Head of Production, Executive Producers, and Editors to oversee all aspects of a project, including planning and scheduling resources, tracking and billing actual costs against initial bids, and partnering with creative teams to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in accordance with Cabin’s quality standards. The role requires a strong working knowledge of post-production workflows and a desire to continue developing that expertise.

Successful candidates demonstrate excellent communication and follow-through with advertising clients, directors, internal artists, and production teams. Additional qualities include strong organizational and planning skills, close attention to detail, a proactive and collaborative approach, and the ability to remain positive and adaptable as project needs evolve. Working hours may vary by project, so flexibility and the ability to work independently are essential.

This position requires a minimum of three years of post-production producing experience in a commercial environment. Although experience in film or television post-production may be beneficial, commercial post-production involves distinct workflows and demands. Producers must be capable of managing multiple concurrent projects while working with high-profile clients and celebrity talent in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.

MAIN DUTIES:

  • Successful production/management of short form and commercial projects.
  • Communicating professionally with high profile advertising clients, directors and filmmakers.
  • Communicating and collaborating with internal creative and production teams.
  • Working closely with other departments to provide a seamless client experience.
  • Building post-production calendars with posting and delivery milestones.
  • Tracking, actualizing and billing post production costs within the scope of a project’s budget.
  • Putting together a cohesive job plan for the editor and assistant from award emails.
  • Coordinating dailies and drive deliveries with production and vault.
  • Liaison with production’s line producer and director’s EP to ensure Editor and Director have been connected.
  • Outreach to third party vendors to schedule and book color, VFX, and mix.
  • Oversee travel for internal teams with the Client Services team.
  • Oversee approval of hours for project freelancers and tracking of hours for duration of project.
  • Invoicing/Billing to agencies and vendors.
  • Submission of end of project actuals.
  • Provide end of day project updates to relevant parties based on job requirements.
  • Provide wrap notes to the finance department.
  • Responsible for retrieving and distributing final masters internally and to third party vendors.
  • Ensuring projects are correctly archived (including retrieval of masters, generic masters, mixes and splits for archiving) in conjunction with the Vault team after wrap.

WHAT YOU BRING:

The Producer will bring previous experience with post-production workflows, softwares and technologies. The ideal candidate will also bring the following:

  • Basic understanding of post-production workflows, softwares, and technologies.
  • Be adaptable for in-person and remote clientele.
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to effectively organize post-production projects.
  • Ability to develop personal rapport and form strong client relationships.
  • Have great interpersonal skills, be meticulous, always organized and work calmly and professionally especially during high pressure situations.
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure, adapt to changing priorities, and take initiative to resolve issues independently while knowing when to escalate decisions.
