SALARY
$80,000–$105,000 annual base salary, depending on relevant experience and qualifications.
Client account management across all production stages
- Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for assigned clients and agency partners from the initial brief through project closeout. Build relationships, anticipate questions and follow through on commitments throughout proposal development, pre-production, shoot days and post production.
- Lead kickoffs and status calls, prepare agendas, confirm invitations and document decisions, owners and next steps. Send proactive updates without waiting for clients to ask.
- Translate approved proposals into deliverable lists, milestone schedules, client-input deadlines and review windows. During pre-production, coordinate client feedback and approvals on creative, shot lists, products, talent, locations and other project requirements with the production team.
- Track scope, usage requirements, approval routes and client feedback. Identify changes early, gather vendor cost inputs and obtain the required internal and client approvals before additional work proceeds.
- Gather client requirements and manage proposal follow-up with leadership. During shoot days, manage client communication, questions, feedback and approval routing in coordination with the Head of Production and on-set producer. Carry decisions and commitments into post production, and elevate account or schedule risks with a recommended solution.
Post production ownership
- Build and maintain schedules from production handoff through final delivery, accounting for client reviews, revisions, finishing and backup coverage.
- Prepare complete briefs with creative references, source assets, technical requirements and clear approval criteria. Establish an approved sample or look before scaling work.
- Consolidate client and internal notes into one actionable revision brief. Resolve conflicting feedback and maintain accurate versions, review links and approval records.
- Review video edits and photo retouching for creative accuracy, consistency and completion before client review. Coordinate specialist technical QC and final release checks.
- Maintain an asset‑level deliverable list covering formats, aspect ratios, crops, captions, clean and texted versions, naming and source‑file requirements.
- Coordinate media handoff and backup confirmation with production and DIT teams. Own final delivery and client acceptance.
- Own project data management and archiving at wrap, coordinating with the Production Coordinator and post vendors to collect and organize final deliverables, editable project files, source media, linked assets and approval records in company‑managed storage. Confirm the archive is complete and backed up before closing the project.
- Maintain a searchable archive register by client and project, recording folder paths, storage or drive locations, final approved versions and any access or software dependencies. Confirm editable projects and linked media can be located and reopened so future client changes can be completed without rebuilding or searching through old correspondence.
Hiring and managing post vendors
- Source, assess, hire and manage freelance video editors and photo retouchers within approved budgets and hiring authority. Review portfolios, check availability and match the right talent to each project.
- Agree on scope, rates, schedules, revision allowances and delivery requirements. Obtain approval for commitments outside the authorized budget.
- Build and maintain a dependable roster of editors, retouchers, colorists, sound mixers and other specialists, including backup options for busy periods.
- Brief vendors, provide clear feedback, track progress and address quality or timing issues early. Manage handoffs between editorial, retouching, color, sound and finishing.
- Track committed post costs and remaining work. Verify completed vendor work and provide accounting with approved milestones, overages and invoice information.
Required experience and workflow knowledge
- Experience managing client relationships across briefing, proposal development, pre‑production, shoot days and delivery, as well as concurrent photo and video post production, in a production company, creative agency or comparable commercial‑content environment.
- Demonstrated experience hiring and managing freelance editors and photo retouchers, giving useful creative feedback and delivering against deadlines.
- Working familiarity with Adobe Premiere Pro: navigating projects and timelines, media organization, proxies and relinking, review workflows, sequences and export settings.
- Working familiarity with Capture One: sessions and catalogs, tethered capture workflows, selects and ratings, RAW processing, color adjustments and export handoffs.
- Working familiarity with Adobe Photoshop: layered files, masks, nondestructive retouching, color consistency, image sizing and delivery of layered and flattened assets.
- Enough practical software fluency to open and inspect projects or files, understand how specialists work, identify common workflow issues and communicate accurate instructions. Advanced editing or retouching is not the primary function of this role.
- Understanding of color references, codecs, resolution, aspect ratios, captions, safe zones, photo crops and source‑file delivery requirements.
- Clear client‑facing writing, strong organization and the judgment to resolve routine issues independently while escalating material creative, commercial or scheduling decisions.
- Comfort working in Slack, Gmail, shared project trackers and collaborative file‑review systems. Food, beverage or tabletop production experience is a plus.
How the role works with the team
The CEO leads production budget and bid creation, with support from the Head of Production, final pricing and material commercial approvals. The Head of Production supports bidding, oversees production budgets and leads production execution. You own day‑to‑day client management across all stages of production, alongside post production management and delivery within approved scope. Coordinate with the Head of Production and on‑set producers on pre‑production and shoot‑day client needs, and with the Production Coordinator on assets, records and handoffs. Accounting handles invoicing, payments and reconciliation using the information you provide.
What success looks like
Clients know what is happening and what is needed next. Editors and retouchers receive complete briefs and timely decisions. Deliverables meet the approved specifications and schedule, changes are documented, approved extras reach billing, and projects close with accepted files and complete, searchable archives that can be retrieved for future client changes. Routine follow‑up and problem‑solving move forward without repeated intervention from leadership.
