Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced News Producer to coordinate day-to-day live coverage across broadcast and streaming platforms. You will partner with the assignment desk, booking team, show producers, and editors to shape programming for major events and daily news.

Qualifications

• 5+ years work experience in either a broadcast or streaming television newsroom, national level preferred.
• Hands on newsroom experience scheduling correspondents, booking studios, and gathering elements during breaking news.
• Fluent and knowledge of current events, politics and pop culture.
• Availability to work all shifts, including early morning, nights, weekends and holidays, on short notice.
• Basic understanding of control room operations.
• Ability to communicate with anchors, correspondents and producers in the field.
• Familiarity with digital video production techniques and online content management.
• Knowledge about social media and the competitive digital news environment.
• Familiarity with ENPS & iNews

Responsibilities

• Identify key events for future coverage planning.
• Collaborate with digital reporters to develop original segments based on their reporting.
• Gather and flag elements during breaking news.
• Contribute to the streaming network’s news event and coverage calendar.
• Communicate coverage plans to streaming-network and broadcast stakeholders.
• Work with the Editorial Director and senior leadership team to plan coverage for live events and specials.
• Schedule correspondents and camera positions.
• Coordinate live interviews and future-event logistics.
• Help direct and manage the streaming network’s daily coverage line-up.
• Participate in a 24-hour news operation covering domestic and international news.
