Job summary

JETRO Restaurant Depot in Albany, NY is seeking a Produce Manager to oversee all aspects of the produce department, including inventory management, product quality, and merchandising. You will lead a team to maintain fresh, appealing displays and ensure adherence to safety standards.

You will partner with receiving to ensure quality and accuracy, manage stock, and drive customer satisfaction in a fast-paced wholesale environment.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in produce, grocery, retail, or warehouse operations.
• Strong understanding of inventory control, product rotation, and stock management.
• Ability to identify product quality issues and ensure proper handling standards.
• Experience leading or overseeing team operations in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operations of the produce department to ensure product availability, quality, and presentation
• Maintain accurate inventory levels through proper stock control, rotation, and replenishment practices
• Ensure all produce is handled, stored, and displayed in accordance with company and food safety standards
• Monitor product quality and freshness, ensuring timely removal or disposition of unsellable items
• Supervise and support department staff to ensure adherence to company procedures and operational standards
• Coordinate merchandising, signage, and product displays to support sales and customer engagement
• Review inventory trends, shrink, and discrepancies to identify and address areas of concern
• Support receiving processes by ensuring incoming product is properly checked for quality and accuracy
• Maintain overall department cleanliness, organization, and compliance with applicable regulations
