JETRO Restaurant Depot in Paramus, NJ, seeks an Assistant Produce Manager to support the produce department's operation, quality, and standards. You will help supervise staff, maintain freshness, and drive daily sales and customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities include inventory accuracy, rotation, merchandising, receiving, safety compliance, and keeping the department clean and organized. The role requires teamwork, strong communication, and Excel proficiency in a fast-paced retail environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in produce, grocery, retail or warehouse operations.
• Understanding of product handling, rotation, and stock management.
• Ability to identify product quality issues and maintain freshness.
• Experience working in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
• Strong organizational and communication skills.
• Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Support daily operations of the produce department to ensure product availability, quality, and presentation
• Assist in maintaining accurate inventory levels through proper stock control and product rotation
• Ensure all produce is handled, stored, and displayed in accordance with company and food safety standards
• Monitor product quality and freshness, ensuring timely removal or disposition of unsellable items
• Supervise and support department staff to ensure adherence to company procedures and operational standards
• Assist with merchandising, signage, and product displays to maintain an organized and appealing department
• Support receiving processes by verifying incoming product for quality and accuracy
• Maintain department cleanliness, organization, and compliance with company policies and regulations
